By popular demand, the Liokareas Family has now released our Private Stock, Jumbo Whole Kalamata Olives. While we are more well known for our plump, delicious, organic pitted Kalamata Olives, there are some olive enthusiasts who love an olive the traditional way, with the pit. Since olives with the pit are not nearly as popular, we have always pitted all our olives for retail sale. We do however keep a small batch of perfectly picked and selected Jumbo olives aside for our own private stock. These Jumbo olives are very carefully cleaned and brined "village style" in barrels, over the course of 4 months, using the Liokareas family recipe passed down from one generation to the next. Using only water and 3 all natural ingredients made on our farm:, red wine vinegar, olive oil and sea salt. Limited stock, only 500 jars were made this year, a Kalamata Olive for the true olive enthusiast.
Kalamata olives were recently named as a new “superfood” referring to foods that offer maximum nutritional benefits for minimal calories. Kalamata olives are packed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. They are full of flavor and are amazing on salads, Charcuterie boards, or just by themselves as a healthy snack.
